I am a freshwater ecologist (PhD) that uses data-intensive methods to answer ecological and applied questions. With a background in public administration (MPA), I am particularly interested in increasing the usability of existing data and pursuing projects with broader impacts.
One example of such work is the Zooplankton as Indicators Group (ZIG) that I co-lead. This group developed the largest world-wide dataset of freshwater zooplankton community data and is using it to better understand zooplankton as indicators of ecological condition at a global scale and the role of zooplankton in ecological function.
